My experience with Java has been over a span of 27 years starting with version 1.04 at IBM Watson Research as an RSM. Just for grins a Java Tetris program (java 1.04 circ 1995) was written by Richard Redpath for a Smart card chip called "Ice". The challenge was to make it small enough to fit on the card. Total lines of code is under 300 and the size is under 10k compiled.
